This one appears to have been edited. I don't know how since I didn't do it, but I figured "what the heck?" and added it anyway.

To Lake Ilsanjo and back
In light of today's rainy forecast Dad and I decided to stick close to home by taking a quick jaunt up to Lake Ilsanjo in Annadel State Park. It clocked out at about 5 and 2/3 miles, and took about 2.5 hours.

Hood Mountain
So, it's been a little while, but here's a post. Dad's back was a little more persistently injured than we originally thought, so we were only just able to get back on the wagon today.
We hiked Hood Mountain in Sugarloaf State Park. It was lovely, though admittedly tick-infested. Let's take a look (photos are both mine and my dad's):

Oat HIll Mine Trail Pt. 2
So the truth is- we didn't really hike this week. Dad injured himself last week while defending our dog's honor, so we took a leisurely stroll around Spring Lake instead.
So what I shall do for this week is post his photos from the Oatmeal Hill Mine Trail.
Should be a proper hike next week. Until then!

Oat Hill Mine Trail
This is an interesting one. It's just outside of Calistoga and in a relatively short period of time you experience quite a variety of terrains. It feels like the top of the hill you spend the whole hike climbing should is always around the next corner, but the sad truth is there is no top. The trail just goes further into the mountains with every mile. But it has some truly amazing views of the Napa Valley, and the particularly rocky portions make for some very interesting hiking.
These are all mine. It's likely I'll do a supplemental post with some of dad's photos since he was snapping away throughout the hike.
